"The Leona Drive Project is a project in reaction to subrbia; both the ideal of the suburbia of the past, and the contemporary ideal of suburbia now. The project is a collaborative effort of over 20 artists of the greater Toronto area. Their mission was to transform 5 post war suburban houses set for demolition into interactive and reactive art. The art works vary in presentation format and mediums from projections, video clips, audio clips, paint, as well as sculptural elements.
All focusing on the ideas of bringing the history and the lives of the houses back to life, rather than washing over them with new ideas. Overall, the project focuses on the ideals of the past in terms of what they have been transformed into today." - Anonymous York Student
